Various types of optical lenses for laser heads

In Laser Cladding technology, one of the consumable parts is the protective lens for the laser head. This lens is installed inside the Laser Cladding head and prevents contaminants and metal powder from reaching the upper parts of the head.

Regular inspection and maintenance of this lens are crucial. If maintenance guidelines are not followed, not only will the protective glass need replacement, but the focus lens may also need to be replaced, which incurs significantly higher costs compared to the protective glass.

The delivery of protective glass and focus lenses for the head is based on order and depends on the thickness and diameter (mm).

Working with fiber lasers requires adherence to specific safety requirements and guidelines. One such requirement is the use of safety glasses that comply with relevant standards. The OD standard determines whether a pair of safety glasses is suitable for use with a specific laser.

Using non-standard safety glasses can lead to serious injuries to the eyes and skin. One method for verifying the compliance of safety glasses is to check for the laser specifications and OD markings on both the lens and frame.

The delivery of laser safety glasses is based on order and depends on factors such as laser power, wavelength, and laser spot diameter.

Today, in the field of Laser Cladding, optical heads are designed and manufactured to accommodate various types of nozzles.

At Parto Pushesh Apadana Company, depending on each project’s requirements—such as the dimensions of the required laser Cladding(width and height of a single pass), execution time, surface quality, and more—the following nozzles are used:

  • Continuous Coaxial Nozzle
  • Non-continuous Coaxial Nozzle
  • Non-coaxial Nozzle
